Back from the Sun - into the perfect storm

We were just in Orlando, Fl over the weekend - and it was great. The first few days were chilly - it hovered around 0 to 5 deg C then it warmed up - man it feels good to feel the sun again.

I am a sun baby, I can't help it. There was fabulous shopping - gnerk, put a real dent in my a/c.

And we returned on a crappy flight (delays galore - and we had to hire a rental to get back to Rochester from MN because the flight was sooooo late)to a huge winter storm that is brewing right now. Just got bits of hail and the supermarkets are packed with people stocking up in anticipation of the snow that's coming our way in the next two days.

Wonderful.
Bleah.

-38 deg C and counting

Most dangerous bit of winter is here. Yes, with wind chill its averaging around -35 to -38 deg c. Weather warnings abound about having to wear gloves and hat if venturing outside lest you get frostbitten. Joy. But on the upside, the days are getting longer (sunset 545 pm!) yay! And gnat is closer to going home.

Hurhur

Wy has just chided me for losing my snese of tropical reality after calling 7 deg C balmy. heheh. Can't help it lar, (see? still have my Singaporean accent) it hit -28 deg C this morning, and we're currently on -18 deg C, windchill makes it feel like -25 deg C.

Amazing how nonchalant you get about the cold when you have to live in it!

Well, actually I don't live IN it.
Am attempting to not move out unless absolutely necessary from the home which is set at a constant 20 deg C.
Yup, your math is right folks. There is a difference of 40 deg C from the inside and the outside.

:)
